I’m a pretty dreadful procrastinator. I thought I’d grow out of it after 5 years of uni but nope! I find myself procrastinating challenging tasks at work even though I know it’s much easier to just tackle it straight away. Perhaps more relevant to this blog though, I am terrible for procrastinating when I should be reading. I’m sure I’m not the only one guilty of this as I know bookstagram is a big distraction to us all – I’ve even set my phone to limit app access during the evening to try and focus!
I thought I’d make a post about the main things I catch myself doing when I could probably be reading instead. I’d be okay with it if I was out doing something meaningful, like the gym or a hobby, but the list is pretty tragic.
- Scrolling aimlessly through instagram
- Literally nothing at all
- Scrolling through old photos/videos
- Watching trashy Christmas films (I know, I know – it’s July. Save your judgement please)
These are, unfortunately, mostly in order of time wasting…
I definitely spend the most time on instagram, chatting with friends and scrolling through pretty feeds! Occasionally though, I catch myself just daydreaming in my chair doing nothing at all! Sometimes I think I’ve officially become a pensioner at the ripe old age of 25.
Right, I’m away to read at least one chapter so I don’t feel horribly guilty! Let me know if you’re also guilty of procrastinating instead of reading, and what you find yourself doing instead!
